Caresheet psg 5 medauriodea extradentata
Country of origin: South-Vietnam
Food: bramble, raspberry, oak, salal and rose
Temperature: This species can tolerate different temperatures, even 15 °c (but this isn’t good for them of course). Room temperature is the best.
Humidity: this species doesn’t need a lot of humidity, you don’t need to spray them, roomhumidity is fine.
Equipement: A cage from about 30 cm high and some ventilation is enough for psg 5.
Sex determination: The males become 7 cm long and the females 9 cm. The males are long, brown and thin and they have a little pointy thing that looks like an ovipositor on the end of their abdomen. The females are bigger and they are brown/grey.
Breeding: Sexually and parthenogenetic
Incubation period: 1-2 months . The eggs hatch very easily, so don’t keep too many(!). You can
spray once a week, that’s enough. The females drop their eggs on the ground, you can let them lay there or
you can incubate them on kitchen paper in a small container.
Number of molts: The females are adult after 6 molts, the males after 5.
Lifespan(nymph): The nymphs are adult after 5 months.
Lifespan(adult): The adult animals live approximately 6 months.
breeding speed: The animals lay much eggs and become easily and fast adult.
Special behaviour: The males curl their abdomen when you disturb them. Pay attention:don’t keep this species with small or thin species (like ramulus species)because they might show canibalism.
special (outer) characteristics: The animals have small horns on their head.
Difficulty: 1-2 (1=Very easy, 10=Only for experts.)
