Psg 144 Ramulus Artemis caresheet
Country of origin: Vietnam
Food: Bramble, oak, rose, pyracantha, raspberry,...they would also eat grass.
Temperature: Room temperature is perfect for this species. They can live in a lower temperature, but that isn't recommended.
Humidity: You can keep them a little bit humid when they are nymph, so they can molt well. When they are adult , they don't need humidity. But you can spray them sometimes so they can drink a bit.
Equipment: The terrarium needs to be 35+ cm. On the floor you can lay paper towels, so you can find the many eggs easily.
Sex determination: this isn't necessary because this is a parthenogenetic species. The females become 10-12 cm long.
Incubation period: The eggs hatch very easily after 2-3 months on room temperature. Keep them a little bit humid.
Number of molts:6 times and then they are adult
Lifespan(nymph): the animals are adult after max 5 months.
Lifespan (adult): the females live just some months after they became adult.
breeding speed: this specie grows fast and lays a lot of eggs. Don't keep to many, because they hatch very good. 20 eggs is enough.
Special behaviour: ramulus artemis can stretch its frontlegs on a way that the head fits just between them. In this
posture they really look like a stick.
special (outer) characteristics: the adult female has a spine on the second last part of the abdomen. When they aren't adult yet, their second last part of the abdomen is brown instead of green. This is the most clear by the subadult animals, but it disappears when they moult to adult.
Difficulty: 1 (a very nice and easy species) (1=Very easy, 10=Only for experts.)
